Factor-augmented Bayesian treatment effects models for panel outcomes

چکیده
A new, flexible model for inference of the effect a binary treatment on continuous outcome observed over subsequent time periods is proposed. The allows to separate associations due endogeneity under selection and additional longitudinal association outcomes, thus yielding unbiased estimates dynamic effects if both sources are present. performance proposed method investigated simulated data employed re-analyze long maternity leave mothers’ earnings after their return labour market.

In this paper we derive asymptotic theory for linear panel regression augmented with estimated common factors. We give conditions under which the estimated factors can be used in place of the latent factors in the regression equation. For the principal component estimates of the factor space it is shown that these conditions are satisified when T/N → 0 and N/T 3 → 0 under regularity. Monte-Carl...
متن کاملSieve Bootstrap for Nonstationary Panel Factor Models
This paper considers bootstrapping nonstationary panel factor models when possible time dependence is present in the factors dynamics. The analysis does not assume any speci c DGP, and a sieve bootstrap algorithm is proposed to approximate the autocorrelation structure of the processes involved in the model. The conditions under which sieve bootstrap yields consistent estimators and test statis...
متن کاملBayesian Inference for Random Coefficient Dynamic Panel Data Models
We develop a hierarchical Bayesian approach for inference in random coefficient dynamic panel data models. Our approach allows for the initial values of each unit’s process to be correlated with the unit-specific coefficients. We impose a stationarity assumption for each unit’s process by assuming that the unit-specific autoregressive coefficient is drawn from a logitnormal distribution. Our me...
متن کاملBayesian Methods for Completing Data in Space- time Panel Models
Completing data sets that are collected in heterogeneous units is a quite frequent problem. Chow and Lin (1971) were the first to develop a united framework for the three problems (interpolation, extrapolation and distribution) of predicting times series by related series (the 'indicators'). This paper develops a spatial Chow-Lin procedure for cross-sectional and panel data and compares the cla...
